THE SYNAGOGUE PEDAGOGUE
THE SYNAGOGUE PEDAGOGUE.
Searching for the sacred scroll
Scripts by sanctified scribes
Sayings of sacred soothsayers
Seeing no sight of the scroll
Sweating, swearing and sighing
Dong! Dong! Dong!
The bell in belfry buzzes
When dawn and dusk diverges
Creating concentric circles of ripple effect Within the circumference of the synagogue
Signaling solemn summon
Still searching for the scroll
Service about to surface
But without the scroll
Murmuring, chattering and lamenting
Forms the rhythm in the revered room
As adherents of the synagogue
Awaits the pedagogue
With sullen look, he stood on
The sacred stand but without
The scroll and speaks:
"Beloved, when the perfect comes,
The imperfect disappears; no need for
The scroll anymore, because a new law is
Given; hidden within the hidden man of the
Heart, therefore search within and the Sacred scroll will be found; and in it, lies Your Salvation."
Still silence sweeps swiftly
As the Cherub floats with oil vials; Seraph Flits with incense censers;
Sacred smoke fumes and fills
The pillars and walls of
The synagogue, glow gloriously
With illumination of great light
Ephphatha! Ephphatha! Ephphatha!
Enveloped and engulfed the synagogue
As the blind eyes opened
The deaf ears opened
The dumb tongues opened
The lame leaped
The sick strengthened
Even the sepulchers opened
And their captives freed
Enraptured by ruptures of great
Rejoicing, the adherents chants
This melodic psalmody:
"Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna!
To the Lamb of God, that was
Slain; who had borne and taken away
Our sins, sicknesses and sorrows
Therefore, our mouth is filled with
Laughter; and tongue, songs of joy
We adore you, Adonnai:
Yehoshua Hamaschiach"!
